B+, Buy it!

Gnarls Barkley is the latest brainchild from the producer Brian Burton, of DANGERDOOM, and Gorrilaz fame. The Soul/Funk artist Cee-Lo lends this album a unique sound, and can’t really be put into a genre. St. Elsewhere seems to have been inluenced by the more classical sounds of funk and soul; but at the same time maintaining a modern sound with some obvious inluences from rap and R&B. Unfortunatly that pro is also this album’s con. It’s songs, even though each one has it’s own defining quality, get very repetitive, and almost monotone, a reflection of todays rap sound. Overall I would say “buy” this album; you will definatly enjoy it if you are a fan of DANGERDOOM, or Gorillaz.
